Forest City 4 Chapter 7 -Caspian-

I stood still at the fence waiting for a response from Monty. A long legged deer brushed passed me to grab what was in the mailbox.     "Cas! You're friend is here," the long legged deer shouted from across the house, she stood there awkwardly and Caspian met my gaze, his hazel eyes met my blue eyes.     "Gwen, can you leave for a minute," Caspian requested he sat on the porch with a book in hand.     "Wasn't gonna stay little brother," Gwen shouted back at him and disappeared in one of the rooms of Caspian's house.     "Isn't she a pain in the neck?" Caspian joked.     "You're almost as bad as her," I sneered jokingly.     "Oh how funny," Caspian shot back.     "Yeah, and almost as bad as me," I added coolly.     "I didn't mean to do that," Cas shot back quickly, he seemed more nervous than usual, last time he was like this was on finals week, his l...

Forest City 4 Chapter 6 -Party Planning-

The first thing I did on the 31st was text Monty.     Cobalt 9:00: Hey, just wanted to shoot you a text and inform you that Hazel is going to be having a party to welcome home Mac.      Nothing yet, I guess I'll give him time, he's probably at the library. I walked out of my room and glanced around the living room and kitchen, mom was most likely at work already. Saturday seemed to be the best day to have an all day party, especially one in a small apartment.     Hazel had dropped off some invitations at my place earlier this morning, she had come up with a list of some people to invite, it went a little something like this... Your parents Mac's parents, just ask them Monty and his family Any of your friends Possibly the parents of those friends I'll get the ladies to join us     My phone buzzed. I glanced down at it, just a notification that a new song came up from a band I like, it wasn't Monty. I turned ar...

Forest City 4 Chapter 5 -School Play-

"Let's try to find a seat close to the front," Conall suggested.     "Did you get the camera," mom reminded.     "Of course, mom," I replied, "dad is setting it up right now, speaking of which, Conall, can you go help him out?"     "We really should get him educated on modern electronics," Conall replied bitterly.     Mom shushed Conall and said sternly, "The play is about to start."     Multiple kids began marching on the stage, the school had decided to do another Christmas play to raise money. I always appreciated the charm that was school plays and whenever Cobalt came up on stage he was always beaming with joy! This time he wasn't.     Conall whispered to me, "He doesn't seem to be having a good time this year."     I felt so worried about the kid, he always loved these plays. About the fourth or fifth song, I had noticed that he wasn't singing. Mom was takin...

Forest City 4 Chapter 4 -Compromise-

I just hope that this party goes well , I thought to myself as I hopped into mom's car.     "How was your day," mom started.     "Fine," I replied quietly, then added, "I'm planning a welcome-home party for Mac."     Mom's ears pricked up and she replied with, "That's good," she didn't look super excited about the idea of a party.     I asked quietly, "I was kind of hoping you could come too."     "Oh," mom's voiced trailed off, "I'll have to see, I don't know if I have work."     "Hazel and I were thinking of getting you all back together again..." I added quickly.     "Cobalt, sweetie, I don't want to be around those people," mom's tone shifted.     I sighed and just stared out the window, we drove through main street, the busiest place in all of Forest City, possibly the loudest too.     Mom chimed in, "You're almost out of school n...

Harley's Block for the Cool Kids

So I believe I mentioned in a blog post a long time ago, I think it was an announcement, I'm going to have to look for it sometime, but I mentioned how I was thinking about making a mini series about Cobalt's little sister Daisy. A few months later and we get to last night, I've been thinking for some fun things to do with the little kids in Forest City, not the teenagers, but the kids that appear every once in a while, like Daisy and Raffi, to be honest I don't think that Mina has been mentioned quite yet by Midge, and for reasons we will get into in Book 5, maybe 4.     So what is my brilliant idea, a comic series that will take place around the same time as Forest City, possibly after Book 6. I imagine that Cobalt might make some appearances in HBCK, but since he should be going to college after Book 6, I imagine it will be minimal.     This comic series is mostly about a kid named Harley who has moved to the other side of Forest City ...

Forest City 4 Chapter 3 -Party-

"I'm going to head over to Hazel's house, I got to ask her a question!" I called out to my dad, while I was putting my boots on, I grabbed a scarf from the coat hanger that stood next to the front door.      "What are you going to ask her?" dad asked from in the living room, he had the news playing at a low volume, probably as background noise, while he read.     "I want to ask her if we can host a..." my voice trailed off, I had an idea that I stole from Mac, that I was hesitant of at first, "I want to ask if we can host a party for Mac, to come home and all..."     "Sounds good," dad trailed off, "make sure to be here by 8, your mother is coming to pick you up."     "I won't be there for too long," I replied. The afternoon had arrived and it was already 4:10.     "Yes, yes," dad finished the conversation quickly.     "Bye," I said quietly, I opened the door and continued o...

Announcement 8/16/21

A cute little email has notified me that Google is making K-12 accounts basically useless to posting on Blogger. No fear, but some fear here. I'm worried that a lot of the blog posts that were made by Juliet will be terminated forever, but no worries, I am working on just taking all of those posts and putting them in a Microsoft Docs because the current chapters by Juliet may be deleted (in the worst case scenario), but I have been planning on the rewrite of this whole series and what better time to do that is during my own panic induced crisis. For now I will be copying and pasting the chapters (and some other things) into a Docs and just working on rewriting them throughout this semester, I will try to keep posting chapters, but lately I have had some really bad writer's block, so we'll see about that. If the most recent chapters aren't good, I apologize in advance, I'm a little stressed about school and driving by myself for the first time.     I'm h...

Forest City 4 Chapter 2 -Change-

The sound of police sirens woke me up, my phone had stopped playing music and died. I sighed and shook the hair out of my eyes. I hadn't even changed out of my clothes last night. I quickly put on a pair of old black jeans with a hole at one of the knees, what a familiar memory. I definitely couldn't forget the time that I had been running home, due to me being up past curfew. I had tripped and skinned my knee on the pavement, I was at least two blocks away and Hazel was luckily driving home from work and picked me up and brought me home. My dad yelled at me for the whole night, all I remember was that I had torn a hole in my jeans and got blood on the carpet. Which reminded me of another anecdote. It isn't really that funny, but...     "Cobalt! Breakfast is ready!" dad called down from the kitchen.     Crap! I have to get dressed! I glanced at my alarm clock, 10:12 AM... dad let me sleep in, he never lets me sleep in, usually he wakes m...

Announcement 8/11/21

It has come to my attention, while I was going back to update the character list that some of the chapters have been completely wiped blank. Some of the chapters look blank and unfinished, specifically from Book 3, I had a feeling that something wasn't correct and I've been noticing a lot lately that Blogger doesn't like saving my blogs. Which means that I may have worked on a blog once and it never saved due to internet or Blogger's incapability to save things. I apologize for any chapters that are blank and or are down right now, as I'm trying to rewrite them and also fix some of the blank looking ones, as in filling those out. I also noticed that the orders got all wrong on Chapters 4 and 5 of Book 3, this was a mistake and it has been corrected, they will show up as the same day, just the 5th chapter has been updated to 3:01 PM so it is in order now.     Apologies for the inconvenience and I hope that I can fix those chapters again.   ...

Forest City 4 Chapter 1 -Too Late-

I shuffled back to my room, I couldn't believe he tried apologizing to me, after all these years! I should have said something, but he just sat there and cried, and I stood there and watched. I could tell he was desperate for something, maybe a reaction... I guess he hasn't changed. I can't help but not forgive him, he just expects me to forget all the things he said to me and move on, no... I can't do that. My phone buzzed as I shut my bedroom door behind me, a text from Mac. I opened up the message.     A picture of pecan pie sat on my phone screen, they got home okay, that's great, it was only an hour long drive from Forest City to the farm, I wondered if it were possibly that I could steal dad's car and leave this city for good, meet them and their family. Then another text buzzed on my phone.      Monty 10:42: U up?      I struggled to come up with a response ...      Cobalt 10:45: Yeah, what do you want...

Forest City 3 Epilogue

"Too bad the shelves of the library 'ave 'oles in 'em!" Tora yelled in the streets.     "So he told Cobalt," Midge replied.     "Yea' right! That little scumbag'll 'ave another 'hospital bill when I'm done wit' 'em," Tora shouted again.     "Be quiet, he's coming," Midge hushed the huge tiger.     Tora balled his massive hands into fists, he then cracked his knuckles and said, "Say the word Bonn."     "Don't call me that," she protested.     Monty came around the corner, only to be met with Tora's massive fists to his face, Monty fell to the ground trying to find his glasses. The sun was setting and a familiar light of the street lamp shone above the meek little bird beneath the dim lighting. He had already been through enough this week, he didn't need anymore from Tora.     They hadn't noticed the tall, handsome deer come around the corner, on the other side of t...

Forest City 3 Chapter 16 -Instant Regret-

I decided to head to the library with Monty, Mac was packing for a trip that they were going to take, so I decided that I would "fill in" for them today. Monty had talked about having after school meetings at the library, it was Saturday, the week before finals, I imagine he would want to have study times with Mac and I, as we haven't been doing particularly great this year. But... it was something else, something was on Monty's mind. We went to the back of the library, as usual, but when he sat down, something was off with him, almost as if he was waiting to tell me some life changing detail about himself.     "I was hoping that Mac wouldn't be here for this," Monty began, "Guess my wish came true."     "Why do you say that," I replied resisting the urge to growl, I wasn't particularly on good terms with him after what Mac had told me at my house on Monday.     Monty's eyes darted around the library, he was looking around...
