Forest City 4 Chapter 6 -Party Planning-
The first thing I did on the 31st was text Monty.
Cobalt 9:00: Hey, just wanted to shoot you a text and inform you that Hazel is going to be having a party to welcome home Mac.
Nothing yet, I guess I'll give him time, he's probably at the library. I walked out of my room and glanced around the living room and kitchen, mom was most likely at work already. Saturday seemed to be the best day to have an all day party, especially one in a small apartment.
Hazel had dropped off some invitations at my place earlier this morning, she had come up with a list of some people to invite, it went a little something like this...
- Your parents
- Mac's parents, just ask them
- Monty and his family
- Any of your friends
- Possibly the parents of those friends
- I'll get the ladies to join us
My phone buzzed. I glanced down at it, just a notification that a new song came up from a band I like, it wasn't Monty. I turned around on the bar stool I was sitting on and turned on the television. The news was booming with politics about a narcissistic President. I thought to myself, I hope he doesn't win again. I changed the channel to one of the various drama channels, one was about man who's wife had a baby that just so happened to not look like him at all, the baby was literally another species. I turned on some cartoons and grabbed one of the most unhealthiest cereals from the cupboard. I poured some almond milk into the bowl and sat down on the couch. I really do feel like I'm reliving my childhood again... sort of, a lot has changed since I was a kid. This cartoon sucks.
After finishing my cereal, I set the bowl in the dishwasher, turned off the TV, and decided to go for a REALLY long walk around Forest City, I thought about bringing my bike, but walking will have to do because the tires are deflated. This specific neighborhood of Forest City was more flashy and annoying. I trudged along listening to music on my phone, trying to not pay attention that much, I had grabbed my backpack and filled it with some of the invitations. I was going to go around and try to hand out the invitations to my friends because that would be a lot easier and more formal, according to Hazel. First stop, Caspian's house, it wasn't too long of a walk to get to his house, I just had to cross the street a few times.
I stood next to his fence and placed the invitation in the mailbox, hoping he was home, I made sure to put on his invitation that it was from Cobalt and it was for him. My phone buzzed, it was Monty this time.
Monty 10:36: I can probably come, it just depends on how I'm feeling.
Cobalt 10:36: Hope we see you there. Ask your dads if they'd like to come to.
I don't imagine he'll be showing up at all, maybe his dads... who knows with him.
