Forest City 3 Chapter 15 -Bait-

I remember going home later in the month to see mom and Mac in the living room. I couldn't wait to braid her hair, teach her how to ride a bike, help her with her homework. I was dying to do all of that. Mom was quite tired and dad was almost done working in the field, so I "helped" by watching Mac sleep in her crib in the living room. I helped tidy up the living room, helped mom clean a little in the kitchen, and helped with cooking supper for the evening.     I always liked helping around the house, but a part of me knew that farming wasn't for me, like, I should go out and travel across the world, take in the culture, etc. I then found my talent for art that afternoon.     I couldn't wait to have my sister grow up, we were going to have so much fun together. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------      I couldn't sleep at all that night, I had trou...

Forest City 3 Chapter 14 -Uncle Hubert-

"I introduce to you, Macadamia Summerwood!" dad announced in the hospital room next to mom.     My new baby sister was all bundled up in a blanket in mom's arms. Mom gazed lovingly at her new baby and cooed at her.     "She looks funny," Chester whined, "I don't want a little sister!"     I stuck my tongue out at him and teased, "Why don't you just move out!"     "Oh Clove that's not nice of you to say," Hazel said calmly, she then glanced at Mac, "Oh she's got the blonde hair too!" Mac tried to reach out to Hazel's pearl necklace, probably to just play with it.     "She's been trying to steal a lot of things lately," dad stated, "Earlier she was trying to take a bag of peanuts from me." He chuckled, then placed an arm on mom's shoulder.     "Oh I can't wait to see my baby niece!" Uncle Hubert bursted through the door, "How are ya Clove? Chester?" ...

Forest City 3 Chapter 13 -Anti-friend-

"Clove, Chester, come along!" Hazel called after us, we were at the hospital and we were waiting for SOOOO long, what was taking mom so long. It's just a baby!     "Are we going to see the baby!" I called after Hazel.     "No, I'm going to take you two to get some snacks from the cafe," Hazel replied, "I'm going to need a shot of espresso to keep me up." Hazel used to be a big coffee drinker back then, now she drinks tea, a lot of it, I can't ever watch a movie with her without being interrupted every 10-20 minutes by her getting up to go to the bathroom.     Hazel reached her hands out to me and Chester, we both took one of her hands and walked with her to the cafeteria. That's where Grandpa and Grandma Summerwood were, they sat at a round table for six, apparently dad would be down here too.     "Oh I can't wait to meet our granddaughter," Grandpa began.     "I wonder what they'll name her?" H...

Forest City 3 Chapter 12 -Just Breath-

I couldn't possibly wait all through class, Botany came around and I still couldn't believe what happened. Monty was in the hospital!? I just felt so anxious to hear about my friend being hurt or it could be worse than I imagined.     "Mac dear, tell me what seems to be botherin' you," Ms. Aves asked in class.     "I just feel so upset, my friend has been mad at me because we haven't included him and now," I couldn't seem to finish myself.     "Breath dahling, breath," Ms. Aves continued, "Let us all take ah trip outside to take ah break today. You all are very 'ard workers and I tink we could use ah break. Mkay?"     Greeeat! We get to go outside, it's cold. We decided to instead, go out to the school's greenhouse, there were some fruits and vegetables growing out here for the AG class.     "Mx. Mac, tell me what 'as been troublin' you lately," Ms. Aves continued the conversation.     "W...

Forest City 3 Chapter 11 -Frantic-

I remember coming home from school, Grandpa and Grandma Summerwood were waiting at the hospital with mom and dad. Hazel had driven Chester and I home from school to get ready to go to the hospital.     "Are you kids excited?" Hazel asked as we entered the house. We lived out in the middle of nowhere in an old white farmhouse, I always loved this house, as it seemed bigger when I was 5. Now it's quite small looking, but I did grow like a foot taller so... you know.     "I'm super excited to meet our baby sister!" I practically screeched while jumping up and down.     "I don't want a little sibling," Chester spat.     "Oh I didn't want a little sibling either and eight months later your father was born," Hazel joked.     "I can't wait to play dolls, do her hair, and ride bikes together!" I screamed again.     "She's just a baby dear, you'll have to wait a little while until she gets older to do all tha...

Forest City 3 Chapter 10 -Mac in the Box-

Hazel sat at the dining room table, sipping some chamomile tea, she always drank some at 9:30 PM and usually finished at 9:35 PM to the t. I continued to rummage through the box of old things. This box had contained so much history, I wish it could be shared with everyone, maybe it would clear things up, maybe it would make matters worse.     "Why don't you share all of this with the town?" I asked.     "Oh, it would only make matters worse, you know," Hazel replied.     That's when I had a great idea, I suggested "Why don't you invite all of your old friends for tea then."     "Mac, I don't know, seriously," Hazel said, then sipped her tea.     I found an old yearbook, a few awards from school, and a picture of my grandparents when they were younger, there was also a young Hazel and dad in the picture too.     "Oh I was four when that picture was taken, your dad was only two, he had the bushiest tail back then," ...

Forest City 3 Chapter 9 -Family Secrets-

Hazel picked me up from Mrs. Lupin's house that night, I wanted to know a little more about what happened between their friend group back in '87. So I asked...     "It really isn't that concerning," Hazel began, "I don't think you would be that interested in knowing."     "I'm just curious how all of you split up and began hating each other," I responded.     "I don't hate Lovell, I just-"     "YOU'RE JEALOUS!" I yelled out loud.     "No, Mac, she never actually was interested in Conall, they weren't a good match at all," Hazel replied, then went silent, "I always felt that way about my brother and... your mother."     "Do you mean that they are bad for each other?" I questioned.     "Your father is very invested in his farm and well, I just wish that he would let go for once, take a break," Hazel said while pulling into the driveway, "he always wanted Clov...

Forest City 3 Chapter 8 -The Wolf Who Cried-

Cobalt sat down on the couch and handed me a mug full of tea, of course it is my favorite kind. I don't even know where to start, do I tell him about Monty? How I've felt homesick all of a sudden?     "I still feel awful about the dance," Cobalt broke my thoughts, I guess it hasn't been on my mind lately.     "I- haven't thought about it lately," I responded truthfully.     "I guess that's not what's been troubling you lately, is it?"     "It's uh complicated..." I continued.     Cobalt's ears drooped and he gazed at me with a questioning look on his face. I didn't know what to say to Cobalt. Monty has been feeling jealous of us... no no no. Monty has been feeling rather self conscious lately after we began dating. Montimer Golden-Finch can no longer handle the fact that we are courting.     "Did Bonnie say anything to-"     "MONTY HAS BEEN FEELING LEFT OUT BECAUSE WE ARE A COUPLE!" I pr...

Forest City 3 Part 7 -Fancy House-

I feel more homesick than ever, I walked alongside Cobalt, he decided to take me home after school with his mom so that I could meet her. I felt bad about Monty, I felt bad about Mr. Lupin , I felt bad about Bonnie, I felt bad about Cobalt, I felt bad about myself.     "Hey! Is something wrong?" Cobalt asked me as we walked out the school parking lot.     "I-I don't know, I just feel like I've done everything wrong," I answered, "I can't seem to find the words."     "Oh," Cobalt trailed off then tried to cheer me up by changing the conversation, "you'll like my mom." He seems to be avoiding the conversation.     We got into the car, Cobalt in the front, driver's side, his mom next to him, I sat behind Cobalt's mom and set our backpacks behind Cobalt's side.     "I believe, I've already met Mac, sweetie," Mrs. Lupin reminded Cobalt.     "Yeah, well, I don't think that it was a very g...
