Forest City Book 5 Chapter 2 -Permissible Graffiti-

"Mac it's time to get ready for school!" mom yelled from downstairs.     I glanced at the clock. It was 7:10 in the morning; the early sunlight was seeping in through my window. It appeared as fire-like and reminded me of amber. I then stared at the cold harsh building in front of my window. Cobalt's light was out in his room and it looked as if his room had begun to be cleared out of his belongings.     I grabbed Clove's diary which I had left open on my desk, the last entry I had read had gone over Clove's 15th birthday and how it was a surprise that mom and dad had gotten her a cellphone for the first time. Oh how I remember the old slide phone.      I grabbed my backpack and threw it on a plush, lily-green chair in the corner of my room next to the bench under the window. I grabbed a t-shirt from my closet and a pair of jeans.     After getting ready for the first day back to school from break, I made my...

Forest City Book 5 Chapter 1 -Sincerely, Clove Summerwood-

Diary entry: 12/19/06     Mac's fourth birthday was today, I'm so glad my little sister is growing up, maybe she is growing up too quickly. I hope that she enjoys all of her presents and especially loves the crayons I got her. I like when she draws things because, while they may not be great and mostly are a bunch of scribbles, I really appreciate all of her drawings.     The other day she drew me a picture of a tree that was being destroyed by one of the tractors on the farm. It was a very horrific sight to see in real life (mostly because dad almost hit the car with the tractor). I enjoy Mac's drawings though, I really do. This tree drawing is a funny little reminder for me that dad shouldn't be trusted with a tractor near a car and a tree.     Mom made sure to put the date that Mac drew the tree in the bottom right corner. She told us this evening some interesting news-     -"Clove, Chester, Macadamia, come downstairs, your ...

This is a big one! Forest City News 12/18/21

Book 4 updates:      Book 4 is all neatly tied up in a big blue bow, it is sad indeed. The hiatus definitely helped me figure out the ending of the book a little bit more and now I have some ideas for a few key frames of the book. I can't wait to do some reworking of the story, I will have a dialogue version (in script form) and a version that is more detail oriented. I am aware that this sounds like a lot of work, and it is, but this is the most tedious part of my comic book process. I find that the part where I am writing the draft is the most fun because I'm just brain dumping, while the script and detailed outlines are more tedious and time consuming for me to do, no worries. I like to make things more detailed and scripts are...well, fun.     For schedule changes:     Through the 20th and 25th of December there will be no blog posts (except for two on the 19th), this is due to it being holiday week for many and I don't...

Forest City 4 Epilogue

"Bonnie! Your father wants to talk to you!" Elaine called for me from the foyer.     I just stay laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling fan, blasting music into my ears. I knew that father was going to ask about my grades and about the whole school year, the same things he always asks about, it's not like he even is here, just in a phone call with Elaine, who was outside my door. I turned myself over and got up off of my bed. I walked over to my door and hesitated with the doorknob. My fur looked ghostly and white on my hands, but I didn't care a single bit about it.     As I gently opened the door, Elaine pushed it open, bright light lit up my dimly lit room. I tried to shut my door quickly, but not trying to slam it, mostly because I didn't want to be rude.     "You really need to dust in here and vacuum, oh and that smell is utterly putrid," Elaine started to berate me.     "Dad wants to talk to me?" I q...

Forest City 4 Chapter 17 -Cocobean-

Cocobean is the best coffee shop in all of the land... all of the world. They have franchises and stores all over the world and everywhere you look in a big city like Forest City, there is a Cocobean. It doesn't matter if you are at a library, a mall, or a high end middle school, Cocobeans will always sprout in a library near you.     "Well it isn't like how my mother made her coffee," Mom began the conversation.     "I don't think anyone can match her recipe," Dad replied.     "Black coffee with, not two, but three teaspoons of sugar," they both said in harmony.     "Your family is pretty great," Cobalt added, then teased, "I don't think anyone in my family even knows how to cook anything, unless it's reading instructions off the back of a mac and cheese box."     "Cooking isn't for everyone, unless you are Lovell's brother," Mr. Lupin interjected.     "Maybe we could get a bran...

Forest City 4 Chapter 16 -Quiet(ish) Night-

Monty and I made our way back to Aunt Hazel's house. We both sat down on the wooden stairs of the porch. Distant chatter came from inside the apartment. I glanced over to the streetlamp that lit up the sidewalk, the streetlamp itself looked so elegant behind the deep, blue sky. The warm glow of light basked on our backs from the tiny half circle window above the dark, wooden door. Monty straightened his glasses and glanced at me with his light emerald green eyes, they seemed soft and genuine.     "I feel like I have made everything worse for everyone and I don't know how to make up for it," Monty began and paused waiting for me to say something, he continued, "I wanted so badly to be a part of what you and Cobalt had. It all started out fine and dandy, but when you two started to date... I became extremely jealous and possessive over you and Cobalt." He fidgeted with his soft, pale feathers and continued, "I guess what I'm trying to say... is th...

Forest City 4 Chapter 15 -Shifting Blame-

Content warning: police people      "Please officer it was my mistake I swear!" Cas shouted from inside of the sheriff's office, "They are innocent, don't put anything on their records, please!"     I sat in one of the musty old chairs at the police station, I had a feeling that this would happen, why, because I always follow along with these stupid plans of theirs. It's just this time they got caught.     "There were others!" the security guard argued, "I found that one in the slide about an hour after that one took off running."     The door opened and Cobalt and his dad entered, a plaster was stuck to his knee. He smiled awkwardly, but his dad forced his son into the sheriff's office.     "I'm not surprised to see him in my office... again," the sheriff began, "I'm letting that one off on a warning, for these two, I expect a punishment."     "As expected," Mr. Lupin said quite...

Forest City 4 Chapter 14 -To the Park-

Cobalt darted out of the front door, leaving the door open, I struggled to get myself free so I could go after him, turns out Monty had the same idea.     "Where do you think he went?" I asked while we turned around the block.     Mr. Lupin had caught up with us in incredible time, he glanced around the block, "He probably went to the park," he said and began to start sprinting again, his plume-like tail brushed up between Monty and I.     "To the park?" I asked.     "If he insists," Monty replied.     Monty led me to the park and replied, "Did I ever tell you what Cas, Cobalt and I used to do here?"     "I don't think so?" I replied, "that was like ages ago."     "I probably should tell you what the significance is to this place then..." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  ...
