Forest City 2 Chapter 12 -Awkward-

    Trigger warning: mentions crimes

What went wrong between those groups of friends back in the 80s. How did they become ravenous to destroy each other's children over what, missing papers...

"You let who stay in your house with my daughter!?" my dad yelled at Aunt Hazel.

"None of that would have happened if Conall hadn't thrown his kid out of the house!" Hazel yelled back at my dad.

"Well, now where is he staying?" dad asked.

"Over at the Finch's, sometimes at his own house," Hazel replied.

"How many times has he been over at your house without your knowledge, Hazel?" my mom asked.

"I-I'm not sure," Hazel said, "I haven't seen him sneak into the house and I trusted Mac not to have anyone over."

"Well, Mac has been having them over, Ms. Summerwood," Delgado replied. I winced.

"You did what without my knowledge!?" Hazel screeched.

"I only had Monty come over, that's it and all he did was help me with writing the missing parts of my story, plus, I texted you," I replied calmly.

"That does make sense, Macadamia knew about their missing assignments after you went on holiday," Chordata intervened.

"Understandable, but what about Cobalt sneaking into Mac's room this morning," Delgado spoke, "he broke into the house, for what though?"

Everyone turned their heads toward Cobalt like owls, I could see Cobalt sweating, he didn't want to raise anymore suspicion, plus his file was quite full, I'm sure they could use those papers against him.

"My son would never!?" Mr. Lupin spoke up.

Chordata began to look through Cobalt's file and she replied, "Seems like he would, vandalism, gang activity, shoplifting, breaking into stores... would you like me to continue, sir?"

    "I-I," Mr. Lupin stuttered.

"Just what do you hope to gain out of this?" Mr. Aguila asked Mr. Lupin, "because it seems more like you are trying to protect your son from following the same path as you than anything else we've brought to the table."

Mr. Lupin grabbed Cobalt's arms and shook his body and cried, "What were you doing over there!?"

"I-I came to see Mac and ask them to..." Cobalt tried to speak, but broke down and cried.

Mr. Lupin let go of his son and sat still.

Cobalt said through tears, "I-I like Mac... a-and I want to be with them... I asked them to the dance and I-I-," he broke down again.

"Very well," Mrs. Chordata concluded and closed Cobalt's file, "I understand, Cobalt."

"Perhaps he needs to start up counseling again," Mrs. Lupin suggested.

"It's all your fault he ended up like this," Mr. Lupin spat.

"I'm sorry for interrupting, but what am I still doing here?" Monty spoke up, "and is this going to go anywhere?"

"We called you as a witness," Mrs. Chordata spoke, "it seems as if it wasn't too necessary to call you down, but can you confirm for me if you helped Mac with their homework?"

"Why yes indeed," Monty said, he took out his laptop that he carried in his backpack and oh-

Oh no, oh no, I thought, I hadn't actually written the story, Monty did.

Mr. Lupin glared at me, he was thinking the same thing that I was, I didn't write the missing parts.
