Forest City 2 Chapter 8 -The Question-
I woke up to the sound of my window being pounded on, Monty had spent the night writing some of the missing parts of my story to make them up for me. I told him to type them instead so that Mr. Lupin wouldn't be so suspicious. Monty had bounded his way up the stairs, when he reached the ladder, he stopped, then opened the hatch. I watched from my bed, as Monty's head appeared from the floor, almost like a groundhog coming up to check its shadow.
"You gonna get that?" Monty asked, "He's been pounding on that window all morning!"
"I uh... who's there?" I asked.
Monty gave me a look of confusion then he said, "Go to the window! I'm still working on making your story cooler!"
"Alright, alright, what time is it anyway?" I asked.
"7:32," Monty replied, the his head disappeared from the floor and the hatch was closed.
I pulled the covers off of myself and made my way to the window, I pushed back the curtains and there Cobalt was kneeling on the floorboards looking as handsome as ever. I pulled back the latch on my window and pushed my window up to let him inside, Hazel would kill me if she saw me doing this (mostly because I removed the screen on the window and it fell into the alleyway down below). Cobalt climbed inside of my room, something Hazel would definitely not approve.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I wanted to ask you a very important question... and maybe kiss you afterwards," Cobalt said, except I didn't quite hear that last part.
"W-what is it?" I stuttered, I had truly believed that Cobalt had been blowing me off all throughout last week because I thought him and Bonnie were back together again but...
"I wanted to ask you if you wanted to go to the... uh," Cobalt stuttered, I could tell he didn't want to say the name of the dance that the school came up with... the Fall Ball, "to the school dance..."
Yes! Yes! Of course I'll go with you Cobalt! I was hoping you'd say that! I thought, then I replied, "I... uh... er..."
"I understand..." Cobalt trailed off and began to turn around and head home.
"Wait! I-I would love to go to the dance with you," I replied, "I was going to ask you the same thing, but I always get so well... so gosh darn nervous."
Cobalt asked one last thing, "Can I kiss you?"
