Forest City Book 5 Chapter 12 -See you again-

Now, I had the paintings in my arms and I had realized who was in the door, my eyes almost filled with tears of joy. I shoved the painting in Monty's arms and ran over towards the figure.
"Mac!?" Clove began, "What are you doing in my apartment?"
"This isn't an art studio?" I asked.
"Surprise!?" Cobalt said and winced awkwardly.
"Yeah, this was kind of planned," Monty admitted and nudged Cobalt in the arm.
"Yeah...definitely...totally was planned...to the t," Cobalt replied in bits and pieces, he shot a cool look at Clove.
"Oh hey Cobalt," Safiya walked past Clove and waved at Cobalt.
"What's going on here?" I asked and released Clove from my grasp.
"You know...that's a great question," Cobalt replied, "...for Monty to answer!"
"How do you two know of Cobalt already?" I asked Clove and Safiya. Also who is this zebra?
"Oh, he's doing a mural on the side of the apartment," Safiya answered, "Found it," she waved a phone in the air.
"A mural!" I said with enthusiasm.
    "It's...uh...a...um...a surprise!" Cobalt said nervously.
"Well I can't wait to see it then," I replied. I then turned to Clove and asked, "How long have you lived here?"
"Since the Finches put it up for sale," Clove answered.
“You’ve been in Forest City this whole time,” my voice lowered into melancholy.
“Yeah, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner,” Clove replied, “I got busy with the art crew-” She cut herself off and paused.
“What art crew?” I asked under my breath.
Cobalt whistled to break the silence and continued where Clove left off, “She started the art club back up.”
“I was going to surprise you with it, but it kind of was inevitable,” Clove replied.
I turned towards Cobalt and asked, “How long have you been in the art club?”
“A couple of weeks,” Cobalt shied, “It was recent.”
“You’re not mad at me are you?” Clove questioned.
“Of course not,” I answered, “I’m just glad to see you again, it’s been like…three or four years,” tears started to well up in my brown eyes as I glanced at the wooden floor beneath me.
Clove replied, “I’m glad to see you again too…”
