Forest City Book 5 Chapter 5 -Old Paintings-
As Monty and I were walking to Botany class, I just had to ask more about the issue. He had his beak stuck in Clove's journal.
"It seems like your sister really likes to draw and paint, she possibly could have been one of my mom's students or volunteers," Monty began.
I was a little more interested in the Tora issue, so I asked, "What...uh...happened with Tora exactly?"
Monty's feathers fluffed up, he seemed to be irritated that, now, I was asking. He quietly closed the journal and glanced around the crowded hallway, his feathers flattening down under his sweater collar. Monty continued, "I'll check out some of my mom's old art from the studio, sometimes students would leave artwork behind or give her paintings and sculptures."
We made our way into the Botany classroom. Before school, Monty had dropped off our flowers, so that we didn't have to lug them around all day. We sat down at our desk and Monty was back to staring at the journal again.

Diary entry: 9/13/14
I'm really enjoying this art club, everyone in it is so creative, diverse, and unique! I've made and helped out with so many paintings and sculptures. I'm super excited for what we are going to be doing next Saturday! The mural we finished two weeks ago has had many compliments and I was asked to design flyers for next Saturday's project!
Safiya and I went on a date to the Cocobean after art club! It was super fun and I started working on a new painting, a gift for the teacher.
Sorry for such a short journal entry, I hope to write more soon!!! Forest City has been so much fun!

"Mac, your sister mentioned something about a painting for the teacher," Monty began while he walked over to our flowers that had been placed on one of the counters,"I think that it may have been for my mom, but I'm not sure which one it could have been."
"Maybe we can dig through some old paintings at the studio and find some of Clove's other paintings," I suggested.
"Then we can match them to a painting that could have been a gift for my mom," Monty continued, "Or at least find Clove's signature...but some of the paintings were moved into our attic and I'm not sure if my dad has cleared them out or not."
"Just keep me updated on the progress," I replied, "We have all the time in the world."
