Forest City 4 Chapter 13 -Chilly Winter's Breeze-

I pressed my head up against the door, trying to listen in on Cobalt and Mr Lupin's conversation. Monty stood next to me, trying to get me to look at something. I continued to ignore and block all of the sounds around me.
The conversation went like this, roughly...
"Did you cheat?" Mr. Lupin began sounding quite bitter.
"No, I would never!" Cobalt replied.
"Is that so!?" Mr. Lupin continued, "because Bonnie-"
"Oh so you're listening to Bonnie now," Cobalt replied quite bitterly.
"Absolutely not!" Mr. Lupin responded defensively, "look at what you have, don't go around wasting it."
"I didn't kiss her, if you were wondering," Cobalt replied silently, "she made me do it..."
Mr. Lupin went silent.
"Why are you so concerned with what Bonnie has to say or do?" Cobalt asked with despair in his voice, "You're acting like a high schooler right now."
"It's just that..." Mr. Lupin paused, "I'm glad you're happy with your partner, I've seen you get better, and I've seen how much of a positive influence they have been on you. Hell, I wish that could be the same with me. I wish I could have been better for you... and for Daisy."
"I know how hard it was for you to be there and for you to be a supportive father. I-I want you to get better and be a good dad for Daisy. It pains me everyday to think about how she's so much younger than me and living without a father. I want you to be there for her... okay..." Cobalt replied.
"MAC!" Mom practically screamed, her hand covering her mouth.
The front door opened and a chilly winter's breeze wafted through the house, all eyes sharply pointed at Cobalt.
Mom had grabbed me and held me close, I tried to release myself, but couldn't get her to budge.
She yelled, "What did you do! What did Mac do to deserve this!"
"Now listen here," Mr. Lupin came to Cobalt's defense, "it's not what it sounds..." his eyes met a familiar sharp green eyes from across the room, his face turned from anger to expressionless, "she did this," he had finished what he was saying.
