Forest City 2 Chapter 11 -Tension-
"Are those lawyers!?" I gawked, I'd never ever seen someone in such fancy clothing like this before, especially since this is an actual investigation.
"Shouldn't we be heard in a courtroom?" Aunt Hazel asked.
"This will be fine, my client has requested a private investigation," Delgado motioned to Mr. Lupin.
"This is Mr. Aguila and Mr. Delgado, Macadamia, Mr. Aguila is here for you and Mr. Delgado is here for Conall," Mrs. Chordata answered my question, "and yes, this is a private investigation, not a court case, if this does get out of hand, there will be something in the paper about it."
That last bit sounded quite threatening, Delgado just let out a smirk, he knew his paper would benefit if the investigation was taken to court.
"Then, let us begin," Mr. Aguila requested. Mrs. Aguila hadn't mentioned to me that her husband was also a lawyer, I guess that makes the most sense.
"Let's start with what happened with Mac's paper," Chordata began, "Mrs. Lanigera did see Conall go into the library and shred those papers."
"It could have been any papers, ma'am," Delgado interrupted, "my client could have been shredding any kind of paper, like... some... emails or-"
"Divorce papers," the woman in sunglasses spoke, she was a tall and slender, a deep blue colored wolf with a perfect jawline and a cute rounded nose. Her sunglasses began to slide down her face as she glared at Mr. Lupin.
"Mrs. Lupin, may I request that you do not speak to my client," Delgado demanded.
"You and I both know we aren't on speaking terms since Cobalt starting to learn algebra!" Mr. Lupin yelled at his ex wife. Cobalt was stuck between the two and he had his head in his hands just waiting for this all to be over.
"Alright, alright, shut up!" Chordata yelled, "I REALLY don't want to take this to court." Chordata opened the file with my shredded paper in it and asked me, "Does this look familiar?"
"I-it's my paper," I stammered, "and it's all shredded up, my handwriting and everything."
"Care to tell me what happens in the very first part of your story, I want to double check that this is your paper," Chordata explained.
"Well, I introduced the chicken to the fox in my story and they begin to get along, but their friendship begins to be tested at the end when their english teacher-" I stopped.
"What does their English teacher do, Mac? Mr. Lupin spoke up, his ears perked up as well almost like he was winning his own game.
"He... he... he forces them to stop being..." I stuttered, my dad glared over at me, "to stop being in a-a... relationship," I deflated, my heart ached so much, my dad had a look of offense on his face.
"Thank you, Mac, now does Conall have anything to say in defense," Mrs. Chordata gazed at Mr. Lupin.
"I think it's pretty self explanatory what is going on," Mr. Lupin replied his arms laid out on the table, he acted like he had nothing to hide, but he was hiding so much at the same time.
I squinted my eyes threateningly, Mr. Lupin's eyes met mine and I heard a low growl come from... Cobalt, he was glaring right back at his father.
Tension filled the room between father and son, (ex) husband and (ex) wife, and teacher and student. I could practically feel the emotional state of everyone in the room... tense.
